T&S Farms is a third generation family farm. It is run by Terry, Stacey, Brittany, Tyler and Megan Hunt. Terry's mom and dad, Bert and Cheryl Hunt, also help out with the daily operation of the farm. Terry and his dad have alway had a herd of commercial cows. They started out with Shorthorn, Hereford, and Black Angus. In 1991 we introduced Charolais and in 1992 we got our first Red Angus Bull. These are the two breeds that changed our cattle herd. We now run 60 commercial cows breeding the red cows Charolais and the tan cows Red Angus getting that profitable tan calf.
In 1997 we decided to get into the purebred business. We started with a purebred Charolais and Red Angus herd but within a few years decided to focus only on Red Angus. The first 6 lease cows originally came from Ken Frazer of Six Mile Red Angus. We now run 80 purebred females that are mostly red but we do have a few black cows that are red carriers.
We strive to produce females that are easy fleshing, quiet, milk well with tidy udders and are built for calving ease. Our herdsires need to be easy fleshing, produce good daughters, calve easy and produce calves that can put some pounds on. Length of body is very important to us in both females and herdsires. We beleive in the value of a great herdsire and have always strived to get the best genetics available.
Our family is very involved in 4-H. Terry is the general leader and both Terry and Stacey are project leader with the Tisdale 4-H beef club. Our kids are current members and have been since cloverbud. They have a passion for showing and judging cattle. This passion has led to the whole family being involved in showing cattle at summer fairs and at Agribition. The kids are also Junior Angus Members.
The bottom line at T & S Farms is to produce quality cattle that will work and add profit to your bottom line. We sell both bulls and females and stand behind our product 100%. When you purchase a bull from us we take on the commitment to get your cows bred and if problems arise we will have a bull available to replace it. Customers are very valuable to us.
